A couple of weeks ago, the closed beta test for the Tibia Flash client ended. Since then, we have been working diligently to address the valuable feedback we received during the test. Today, we would like to update you on the progress we have made so far and tell you what still needs to be done before we are going to kick off the open beta test.
We carefully noted down, categorised and prioritised all relevant points that were brought up by our dedicated closed beta testers. This feedback helped us to identify the major areas needing improvement, and so we focused on addressing these issues first:
- Besides enhancing the overall performance of the Flash client, we were able to considerably improve the lag caused by mouse movements.
- We solved a couple of problems with pathfinding and also fixed more than 20 other technical issues.
- We also used the feedback we got concerning the chat console to polish the visualisation of tabs.
Currently, we are working on optimising the Flash client for different browsers and keyboard settings. At the same time, our graphic artist has armed himself with brush and pallet to face the challenges of creating a stunning loading screen for the Tibia Flash client. We already have some eye candy in store for you today. On the right, you can see a small part of the overall loading screen artwork. The picture is not finished yet but it already looks pretty amazing, don't you think?
So what comes next?
Some features such as the quest log, the safe trade as well as the import and export options were still missing in the closed beta test. So one of our next steps will be to implement these features into the Flash client since they are essentially important for the open beta test. Moreover, we will try our best to address further points from our compiled list of feedback and suggestions.
So there are some busy days ahead of us. We hope this news article helps a bit to ease the waiting time until the start of the open beta. As soon as there is a fixed date, we will let you know about it.
Stay tuned!
