New outfit has been added to the Store today!

The path of the Shadowlotus Disciple is a lonesome and threatening one. Only those who forget their name will learn to sneak within shadows. And only those who will overcome their greatest fear can become a true master of assassination.

Do you want to party like there is no tomorrow? Ready for some fun activities? Then you are in luck, as Orcsoberfest is right around the corner!

It is time again for the orgers to get their fill of all the food and beer one could ever dream of, while diligent orcs work tirelessly to ensure that no plate and no stein is ever empty. Gain festive points by engaging in numerous activities, partake in the lottery to have a chance at winning great prizes or try to satiate King Chuck's voracious appetite in exchange for a reward.

As of server save on October 14, a tent will appear south of Thais. Inside is a teleport which is open to any Premium player, bringing you to Orcsoberfest island. Talk to your friendly neighbourhood orger Xaver first after your arrival or directly engage in the activities if you are an Orcsoberfest veteran.

The festival concludes on October 21. During the weekend after the event (server save on October 21 until server save on October 24) all game worlds will receive a 50% XP boost for creatures of the "demon" bestiary class.

As they say on the island, meaning 'Happy festivities!' in Orcish:

Track your Archfoes' Cooldown

The summer update will spice up boss hunting and farming with the addition of the Bosstiary. And we have one more thing which will come in handy for ambitious boss slayers:

You want to know when exactly you will be able to fight a certain boss again? The new widget Boss Cooldowns assists you in keeping track of the remaining cooldown time of Archfoe bosses which you have killed at least once. Archfoe is a category in the Bosstiary which includes bosses with a cooldown of 20 up to 48 hours.

Instead of having to remember or noting down when you killed a boss, just open the widget to check the remaining time before you can fight the boss again. You can neatly place the widget into one of your sidebars to always keep an eye on it while playing.

You can either sort unlocked Archfoes by remaining cooldown time or by name. And if you want to check the Bosstiary entry of one of the displayed bosses, just click on their icon to open it.

The widget can be opened via the analytics selector.

Boss Up
Lilly on 20 June 2022 12:27:16 · 0 Comments · 257 Reads
Tibia offers a huge variety of bosses, they are an essential part of the game. They shape the game experience of many players, and quite a few Tibians farm them on a regular basis. Bosses differ in appearance, complexity, difficulty, rarity, profitability and other aspects, some are quite iconic or even legendary.

With the summer update, we want to pay tribute to this important part of Tibia. We want to enrich boss slaying by giving it additional purpose, by offering something ambitious Tibians can strive to complete over time while others may use it for a few bosses only: the Bosstiary.
The Bosstiary is a new addition to the Tibia Cyclopedia which allows you to check which bosses you have killed and how often. It rewards your character with useful and fancy benefits for making progress there.

The first kill of a boss after the update's release will open up its entry in the boss archive. Each boss entry has three progress levels. A counter will show you the required amount of kills to reach the next level for this boss.
You also receive boss points for unlocking a new progress level. Higher progress levels yield more boss points.

These are the three progress levels you can unlock for each boss:

Prowess allows you to assign this boss to a boss slot.
You receive the first boss slot when unlocking Prowess for the very first time.
If you select a boss for the boss slot, you benefit of an equipment loot bonus of 25%. This means that there is a 25% chance for you to receive another set of equipment loot from the boss.
This bonus only applies to items which can be equipped unless they are limited to one drop per boss kill, e.g. Ferumbras' hat. Such unique drops are not affected by this bonus.
Expertise allows you to display this boss on a Podium of Vigour in your house or guildhall.
Your character will receive one free podium for unlocking Expertise for the very first time.
Afterwards, you can buy additional podiums for gold at an NPC.
The Podium of Vigour can be configured via a specific window similar to the Podium of Renown. Click on the image to the right to see the dialog.
Mastery grants you an additional 25% equipment loot bonus when this boss is assigned to a boss slot.
Completing boss entries to collect boss points pays off: The equipment loot bonus of the boss slot can be increased gradually up to 182% by accumulating points. Also, a second boss slot will be unlocked once you reach 1500 boss points.

The number of boss kills required for each progress level depends on the how often the respective boss can be killed within a certain amount of time. There are three categories:

Bane: Bosses which can be killed more than once by a character within 20 hours, e.g. Zugurosh.
Archfoe: Bosses which do not fall into the Bane category and which can be killed once every 20 up to 48 hours, e.g. Scarlett Etzel.
Nemesis: Bosses which neither fall into the Bane nor the Archfoe category since they appear less often or have a longer cooldown than 48 hours, e.g. Ferumbras.
Making progress in the Bosstiary will also bestow temporary and permanent titles on your character. Moreover, the new highscore "Boss Points" will be added.

Daily Boosted Boss

With every server save, a randomly drawn boss of the Archfoe category will receive a temporary boost until next server save. During that time, slaying the selected Archfoe will count as three kills for your Bosstiary and the boss will also carry more equipment loot than usual. This boost will always be higher than the maximum equipment loot bonus which can be achieved through the Bosstiary.

If a boss is selected as daily boosted boss, its cooldown will be reset for every character with server save to ensure that it can be slain in time.

Similar to the daily boosted creature, the daily boosted boss will be shown in the client and also on the website which will also be expanded by the section "Boostable Bosses". It will also be displayed in the Tibia Observer app.

Upcoming next: One more thing to track!

Hazardous Journey

Day 216

Gnomadness said it with a chuckle: "More gnome pain, more gnome gain!" After I had helped the gnomes to avert disaster, he had offered me and a few others the opportunity to serve as a test subject for a recently discovered device he was able to operate, or shall I say manipulate? Apparently, it re-aligns how a human resonates with the fauna here in this roaring subterranean wilderness.

My curiosity was piqued for I had heard rumours of an odd creature crawling through the depths of the jungle on rare occasions. Similar in appearance to my beloved rotworms but with crystals adorning its massive body. A plunder patriarch.

Well, I now know that Gnomadness certainly lives up to his reputation, and even more so to his name. I should have taken heed of his subtle warnings:
While a high resonance is more likely to lure a patriarch out of hiding, it will make other creatures here much more hazardous and ferocious than they already are.

Moreover, I had to slay a particular primal beast as some kind of shock treatment to have my resonance altered by Gnomadness and his device. He referred to the procedure as raising my personal "hazard level". The higher my hazard level, the more it resonates with the environment and thus, will make primal creatures more savage in my presence. Certainly not the most intriguing outlook.

Nonetheless, the urge to see the majestic, yet fragile plunder patriarch in action convinced me to knock on death's door numerous times. For my comrades, it was the prospect of wealth and power.

And so we started to venture out into the jungle day after day to reach for our dreams. Whenever we had killed the primal menace, we went to Gnomadness afterwards so he could raise the hazard level for our next trip.

It was brutal, and our dreams soon turned into nightmares. All our expertise and skill paled in how well the creatures adapted, how their blows hit us harder, how they seemed to dodge our attacks with ease, how some of them died just to bring an even more vicious abomination to life.

Yet, we also grew faster in strength and we earned enough profit to sustain our operation, all in the hopes of coming across a plunder patriarch again.
Our first encounter with such a creature was literally breathtaking. The patriarch didn't pose a threat but it was surprisingly fast considering its massive and sturdy body. It almost escaped us as it was gliding through our elemental fields. Eventually, we had it cornered and chopped away at it till its corpse revealed a most spectacular piece of equipment brimming with raw power.

Gnomadness was only mildly impressed. Somehow, he had already accumulated quite a number of these objects. "More gnome pain, more gnome gain," he urged me to push ever onward and promised to reward me with one of those pieces once I have subjected myself often enough to his hazardous experiments. I shall prevail.

Upcoming next: Time to boss around!

Diary of Amaro De Quester

Day 42

Is it night or day up there on the surface? I wonder. For so many years have I been searching for places nobody dared to dream about. Who would have thought that the strangest of them all was to be found underground, deep down where time is nothing but an illusion of man.

Joining the newest gnomish expedition didn't take any courage. Descending into a bottomless pit, a fathomless abyss, though, was a much bolder step. Had it not been for my curiosity and the gnomes' assistance, I might have bailed.

Deep below the surface, the gnomes have discovered a colossal cavern cradling an impressive landmass with a giant, rumbling volcano at its centre, spewing molten lava, ash and smoke. They call this place Gnomprona, a dish best served hot and spicy. An enormous skull hovers over the entrance to the volcano's inner chamber. I've seen a beast like that before, staring at me through hollow, gaping eye sockets. The exaltation forge; unearthed by the adventurers' guild with the help of the gnomes.

The abundance of natural resources down here doesn't tempt me. I'm not driven by greed, I came to understand and learn. And yet, I've stopped looking up because there is no infinite sky, no sun to behold, no clouds or stars to count. All I see is that strange mist which illuminates the whole place and hides the cavern's rugged ceiling of stone and stalactites that can come crashing down any minute.

Water droplets are falling off the large green leaves and ferns but none of them reaches the ground, they all evaporate halfway. This scorching stifling humidity, it's suffocating and exhausting. But we need to keep going, for what we found is like beyond anything I could have imagined: Primordial creatures, some of them never seen before while others were believed extinct. Progenitors of species we currently know. And traces of an ancient civilisation! Maybe even older than our earliest-known ancestors.

The luscious green scenery around me is bathed in the red glow from lava pools and rivers, spreading from the volcano like veins of blood, pulsing sluggishly, mimicking Tibia's heartbeat.
A marvellous sight to behold, a treacherous beauty ready to strike, to break free and engulf the world in flames.

The ashen air I breathe is heavy, hot and dusty; I'm ablaze and drenched at the same time, reeking of sulphur just like everything else down here. The smell of decay, it burns and lingers. The jungle is brimming with life but it's life on the brink of death. Every creature, every plant is engaged in constant struggle for survival, devouring and being devoured, facing each other and facing nature itself, here deep down in the bowels of our home.

If this hazardous place is the paradise they've told me about, I have to rethink my conception of hell.

Upcoming next week: A gnomish saying goes, "more gnome pain, more gnome gain!"
